We bought this CD and booklet to prepare for a short visit to Japan because I had been impressed with the Berlitz Italian tapes I bought years ago. However, we were very disappointed in the phrase and vocab selections for this CD. If you want to learn Japanese in an hour, learning "where is the bathroom" (not included in the whole cd!) would be much more helpful than "What kind of music do they play?". Also common yen increments are in 1000's (1000 yen = approx $10) but they only teach you numbers up to 100. So I still don't know the numbers for basic money increments. Anyway, buy another CD if you want to learn basic survival skills in Japanese.

I enjoyed this book- I had never heard of the Decavalcante crime Family. I have heard that there were five major mafia families in New York. I have watched the sopranos on Hbo,and seen many of the mafia movies. The writer of this true crime book did a fine job in delineating the history of this crime family as the federal Government was putting it out of business coincident with the production of the sopranos t.v. series in the same city[elizabeth,NJ]. The writer shows in detail how the members of the crime family responded to the pressure that the Government brought to bare upon them. And how they brought about their own burnout. The author did not go into detail about the death of John D Amato in 1991 by Vinnie Ocean and Anthony Capo when according to the T.V. series CITY CONDENTIAL ON BIOGRAPHY CHANNEL. The family learned that he was a submissive homosexual. The family consented to his being wacked.

I love to read, especially concisely written, tongue in cheek books. Having grown upon New Jersey I was very familiar with the subject matter. This book, while billed as fiction, was well researched, and the writing style keeps the attention. I would definitely read other works by this author.

A decent read about a mafia family none of us get to read much about. They definitely weren't the Sopranos! It was good to read something other than the Gottis.

I found this book too complex to really enjoy reading. I usually enjoy this kind of book but this one was just too complicated.

Was a decent read

I have to say that I must agree with the comment in the Literary Journal review, above, that the writing in this book is disjointed and repetitious. It was so broken that in many cases it was hard to follow. The author jumps from person to person with little background and less connection from one part of the book to the next. I was all ready to like this book. I've been a big fan of The Sopranos, so I was very interested in this book. Unfortunately, it was hard to enjoy. It also lacked the saving grace of those little bits of insider information that can be so fascinating. It just wasn't there. The author could have taken the approach of directly linking the people and events in the book with Sopranos people and events. In fact, it looked like that was exactly where he was going. At one point he mentions several events from real life that directly coincide with Sopranos events. But then the book disappoints by not linking people, beyond the most general terms and far too seldom to enjoy. Overall, this book was a big disappointment. I can't recommend it at all.

In the biginning of the book it was a little draggy and that is why I only gave it a 4 star rate. However as I got into the book it became more interesting and informative. Yes I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read about the mob as I do!!

I know there is controversy surrounding hypnosis for weight loss. I bought this system a couple of years ago and lost 20 pounds at the time. It was not effortless. You have to really listen to the CD's and practice what you're learning. I have slowly allowed the weight to creep back on so am back again to listening every night. I can tell by the way my clothes fit that I have lost a bit. Not sure how much because in Phase One he tells you to put your scale away. This last bit is great advise for anyone--look at yourself in the mirror and pay attention to how your clothes fit. My advise is try it and practice what you learn. We spend so much money and time on gimmicks that usually fail. This is a program that works from the inside out! Train your brain for weight loss!

I bought this in 2009, and it is a big time time commitment. So I would start it and stop it and start all over again. I would notice a change, but then wouldn't stick with it. I recently started again and really just committed to the amount of time it would take. Once I start listening, I pretty much pass out (which is fine because you are still getting the information) even during the conscious listening parts. I enjoy walking or cleaning while listening to the conscious parts as well (you listen to one conscious part every three days), I even break it up sometimes and listen to 10 minutes here or there. I have to say, this really, really, really works. It has changed all of my habits and a lot of the "hunger" has gone away. I have been really consistent with it and it makes me feel really great. It relaxes me and keeps me on track with very little effort. I find I don't mind the time anymore and it is totally worth it. Total thumbs up!!!

This is one of the best investments I have ever made--and without a doubt, the best one I have ever made in my pursuit of a healthy body and a lower weight! I have been listening to the series of CD's for about 3-4 weeks and not only have I lost two pounds every week and lowered my body fat percentage, but I have seen tremendous changes in other areas of my life as well---improved attitude, positive mental outlook, less stress, improved confidence, greater self esteem and more smiles...and as the program indicates, it is practically effortless.My single regret is that the marketing line for the book uses another of those "Lose 30 lbs in 60 days" lines which tends to put it in the ranks with gimmicky products that draw people in with unrealistic promises of results. I am finding that this program actually DOES produce results but consumers may pass it by as another empty promise. It is NOT!!!While the use of this program to achive results does not require a lot of physical effort or deprivation, it does take effort--or a return investment--as well. And what you have to give is your time---time to listen to the series of CD's, follow the suggestions, and do the few short exercises it recommends (not the jumping jack, touch your toes variety, but writing down your thoughts on the current topic, or taking a minute sometime each day to review your accomplishments and give yourself a pat on the back for the changes you have made and the new behaviors you are adopting--effortlessly and healthfully!)I believe that the mental and behavioral changes that the program initiates are indeed a means of making this the final weight loss (health achieving)program that I will ever have to use. I am looking forward to my continued success and to enjoying all the healthful benefits that are already underway. I can see my new body at the end of the tunnel. I believe it...and I will achieve it!

Wish I could say I used it consistently enough to vouche for it. But that's user error, it's a 5 star product for sure.

It's OK

I just started a couple of weeks ago, don't know how much weight I have lost, and not really concerned. I can how ever say that my entire way of eating has changed for the better. I now eat based on the nutritional value of a food. I ask myself is that a healthy thing for me to eat?. I also stopped smoking my 1 to 2 cigars a day for 2 weeks and no longer consider them something I enjoy as they are not healthy for my body, and that is how I now judge anything I have a choice to partake of. I'm not constantly having to make sure I have cigars on hand so I won't jones for one.I also eat very little and only when I'm hungry. I am no longer concerned I will get caught hungry with no food around. Life is getting simpler and better for me, and I have these CD's and my own brain to thank for it.

I had to get this for her Drama class elective in 6th grade middle school. Its a really quick and easy read. She loved it so much she is making me read it too. She says that even though you think you know whats gonna happen there are twists to the plot!

I am confused by the other reviews; this is not the JB Priestly play, but a completely different story about a pub, its landlord, and a strange lighter.

An Inspector Calls is a great movie . The actors are the best and the story mystery not simple and pulls you in to the end . A must see .

Saami Inspired Bracelet Basics is an excellent guide to making one of my favorite types of jewelry. Liz Bucheit begins the book with a beautiful quote from Gustav Mahler, "Tradition is not the worship of ashes, but the preservation of fire." Bucheit's reverence for the craft of Saami bracelet making is evident all throughout the guide book. The photos and detailed instructions make for easy reading, and the additional links provided for online help and ordering of the materials are incredibly helpful. I also love the font size! (No cheaters required to read it.) I look forward to passing my version on to a friend in NYC who took a course with Liz as this book provides the perfect refresher for making these gorgeous traditional pieces of art in your own home or studio.

The product detail and cover picture is very deceiving. I bought this in paperback, it has instructions to make ONE basic style bracelet and has references to 'follow the link' if you need more information. Very bad editing from Internet instructions to paper. The product description states 'bold type' text, when in fact it is printed with large font, making the book larger than it needs to be. The best parts are the photos, they are very large to show details, but some are blurry because of the size. This book is more of an advertisement to buy from their supply shop.

While this book does an okay job of explaining how to make the simplest of bracelets, it is really a tutorial that could have been half the size for half the price. I felt ripped off by the price. Also, the front cover shows other bracelet designs, but the book is only for the simple 3 strand braid on the inset of the cover where it says "make this bracelet".

If you're looking to have a step by step guide that is exactly like taking the class then this is the book your looking for.

This book provides just what you need to create saami bracelets. The instructions are concise and the photos are clear- walking you through the process. I also used the video links and found those helpful as well.

Lovely book, great instructions.

Very easy read, gave me the basics with really good pictures that helped me have success with my first attempt

Davidson. A very interesting read with gorgeous photos for Harley lovers.

Love this book. I've read it from cover to cover twice already. You never get tired of reading Harley history and seeing all the great pictures inside.

It's amazing to learn the true story of H-D from those who actually made it

I can't say a bad thing about this Harley book. It is chock full of great photos and packed with tons of history info regarding Harley Davidson. This should be on the shelf of every Harley owner. It's the first history book that hasn't put me to sleep.

I searched for several days for this book for my boyfriend for Xmas. And it wasn't cheap. The book itself is awesome! I recommend it for any H-D enthusiast. However the carton it was shipped in was not in the best of shape, for starters. It was packaged this way...just kinda thrown in a box. I was surprised it didn't get damaged. That is until i opened the film covering the book...there is a sticky spot on the cover about the size of my fist and i really see no way of getting it off without damaging the book. I would love to have it replaced but since they are getting harder to come by, i really don't see that happening.

Lots of history of Harley Davidson.

I love this book, it's the best out there, and written from the perspective of someone who was there, and at this point, even the grandson is pushing up there in years. Glad to buy it, loved reading it. Feel like I got a better feel for the brand, the myth and the men behind the machine.

Dad is a collector of Harley memorabilia. This was an awesome book. Great pictures.

E. Keith Blankenbaker is a leader in technology education curriculum development. As a secondary school teacher he served as department chairman and was elected president of the regional industrial technology teacher education association. As ateacher educator he was elected program coordinator, served as president of the Ohio Technology Education Association, acted as coordinator for the development of a new technology education curriculum guide for Ohio, and served as a member of the ITEEA Board of Directors. His construction workexperience includes designing, building, maintaining, and remodeling residential and light commercial structures. These experiences include forming, placing, and finishing concrete; framing; roofing; plumbing; electrical; installing doors and windows; exterior and interior finish carpentry;cabinetmaking; and painting.

This books hit you like a cool breeze while relaxing on the beach. The characters are infectious and I challenge you to not find yourself in every moment Lily is clumsy lolStone is fantastically written, it’s nice to know what goes on inside the mind of your QB to be honest.Rachel Harris has done it again. She pulls you in and wraps you up with characters who become family.Eyes On Me is a must read!

I really liked this super cute, young adult book. It was cheesy but soooo good. While it was a pretty common trope we see with a smart girl and a jock, this was different in many ways. There was the added factor of dance lessons, which I thought was so fun, especially between teenagers. It really showed the benefits of dance throughout the book.All the characters added dimension to the story. The main characters, Lily and Stone, were perfect together. They thought they were so different from each other, when in reality they had a lot in common. Stone is more of a live in the moment guy vs. Lily’s planned her entire future out. While Stone was popular, Lily was a nerd, yet they both were hiding in plain sight. But, they both showed a lot of change throughout the book. Stone was seriously the nicest jock. The only problem I had was obviously him taking money from Lily’s dad to dance with her, but you do understand why he did it. And Lily, my heart seriously broke for her. She had been dealt a rough hand lately and I just wanted to give her a big hug. She also had anxiety and I thought the way Harris explained Lily’s feelings of anxiety was done exceptionally well.My only complaint would be that it was slow paced. I really had to push to get into the book, but it was so worth it in the end.I would definitely recommend this sweet young adult story. Summary: Lily Bailey is a proud nerd. She loves books and spends more time studying than she does at high school football games. Lily’s life begins to change when after a stress induced trip to the hospital, her dad forces her to take ballroom dancing lessons. At her first lesson Lily encounters Stone Torres, the high school’s star quarterback and son of the dance studio’s owner. Lily’s dad knows she doesn’t want to spend her free time learning to salsa so he offers Stone a large payment if he will become Lily’s permanent dance partner and encourage her to keep taking classes. Stone knows that his family’s business is in jeopardy and reluctantly accepts Mr. Bailey’s money in hopes that he may be able to help keep the studio open. However, as Stone and Lily spend more time together the two form a connection that neither want to lose.What’s Good: I love a book with a smart main character and Lily was a fabulously brainy girl. Also, s a person that reads a lot of YA, I appreciate when an author has an original angle. Harris’s dance studio romance had a very cute and originally feeling premise.What’s Not So Good: It took me a really long time to warm up to Stone and Lily. They just didn’t really connect for me until about a third of the way through the book. I was may more interested in the possible romance between Stone’s sister and his best friend.Bottom Line: This is a cute book about opposite attract that fans of YA romance will enjoy.

As you can tell by my rating of 5 stars, I adored this story! It was one I picked up and was immediately sucked into what was happening. The characters were extremely relatable, but also realistic. While we had the klutziness of our heroine like we see a lot of times, she was able to get over it when she wasn't spending so much time dwelling on it, and just worrying about what she was doing in the moment. And then there was our love interest, Stone, it was impossible not to adore him. Because even though he was sweet, and a perfect book boyfriend, he still was a teenage boy, and the way his character did things and reacted to situations was very realistic, in my opinion.The one issue that I knew would be hanging over Stone's head and probably cause our big final bit of drama, while obvious, the money her father had paid him, played out in a such way that made what normally seems like an overreaction in this type of situation to me, made perfect sense. I still adored the way he made his grand gesture, loved Stone's sister Angela's movie love for this.So much of this story had me smiling and happy, and I can't wait to share this book with my students, as well as other readers!

I applaud Rachel Harris’ EYES ON ME. Concerned about her stress level, Lily Bailey’s father enrolls her in dance classes in hopes of relaxing her. Unknown to her, he offers star Brighton High football player, Stone Torres, money for being her dance partner. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for young adults.EYES ON ME was an entertaining and believable read. The characters were well developed. I like Lily. She puts a lot of stress on herself to become valedictorian and to get accepted to Harvard. After winding up in the hospital, her father enrolls her in dance classes as an activity to get her mind off her classes. Stone is a good guy. Out of concern for the financial well-being of his mother’s dance studio, he accepts money from Lily’s dad to be Lily’s dance partner. As he gets to know Lily, he feels conflicted about taking the money. Cameron Montgomery is the perfect antagonist. She is Lily’s competition for valedictorian and Stone’s ex-girlfriend.I enjoyed the plot. There were good life lessons and moral issues. I have taken ballroom dance classes, so I respected that aspect of the story. Being Hungarian, I appreciated that Stone’s mom/dance instructor was born there. I like that the characters faced significant obstacles and grew as a result. This is the first book that I have read by Rachel Harris. I enjoyed her writing style. I would read books by her in the future. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
