I have not been active in this field for more than twenty years and I decided to purchase this book, which I saw on amazon at a bargain price.Even though this book (Healing yourself with Self-Hypnosis) was published more than 15 years ago, most of the material is still valid today. I consider self-hypnosis as merely a form of focused meditation, but it has the extra positive value of improving various aspects of one’s life. This is a revised and expanded edition of a classic guide to achieving health and peace of mind.This 272 page text is organized into 18 interesting and informative chapters. Some of the material covered in this volume includes the following: A basic introduction to using self-hypnosis for a new way to successful living. Theories, fallacies and facts about hypnosis, how and why hypnosis works, the conscious and subconscious mind, the 4-A’s method of self-hypnosis, the power of hypnosis to help you control your weight, give up bad habits, cure insomnia, improve your sex life, and many other topics. Do not pass up the appendix sections because it has some vital tips and therapeutic suggestions.In conclusion, if you are seeking to improve all aspects of your life through the practice of self-hypnosis, this is the book for you. I have used hypnosis for a long time. I bought this book on recommendation from a grandson, and found a couple of applications I had not seen before. All in all, an excellent book, with many examples of uses of hypnosis.

Fantástic!
This book was an easier read than many hypnosis books on the market. There are also many relaxation scripts to help get beginners started. I have been exposed to many types of hypnosis practices and I must say that I like self-hypnosis the best, but I do feel that some exposure to a professional can be very beneficial. I have been using this book as an aid for about 4 months and I must say the changes are indescribable. I have lost weight (a lot!), become more disciplined in my studies and have a more rewarding relationship with my boyfriend of 4 years. Also, since the suggestions are my own that I am giving, then I am not as prone to accept suggestions from others and as result, I am more aware of negative energy amongst other people and don't take it on. This is a great book and in conjuction with other tools such as relaxation, some exposure to personal therapy, it can/will have amazing effects and the that is the truth!
This book is easy to follow. I learned a lot from it and glad to have read it. I thought there was too much information about self-hypnosis in the beginning. I don't have another self-hypnosis book to compare it to, so I can't find much to complain about. I do reccomend it.
