About the Author

Kelly Storck, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker with a private therapy practice in St. Louis, MO. Kelly’s focus is in gender care and advocacy for transgender rights. Along with this work, Kelly presents workshops and trainings on issues relevant to gender diversity with intent to help support the greater health, well-being, and liberty of people of all genders. Foreword writer Diane Ehrensaft, PhD, is director of mental health, and a founding member of the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Child and Adolescent Gender Center Clinic. She is a developmental and clinical psychologist in the San Francisco Bay Area. Illustrator Noah Grigni (he/they) is a queer, genderqueer, trans masculine artist and organizer from Decatur, Georgia, currently living in Boston, Massachusetts, whose work focuses on themes of dysphoria, resilience, and finding strength in community. They create art to process personal experiences, navigate and confront systems of power, unlearn the binary, and celebrate trans and queer love. Such a fantastic workbook. My 9 year old loves that it is something she can get into and explore on her own. She and I have gone through it together, but she is filling it out herself. Kelly did an amazing job covering so many areas. I am so glad this workbook is out there for others to peruse. We are very educated on the topic, but this presents it all in such an easy way for adolescents to delve into their emotions, thought processes, and get it all down on paper to go back to at any time.

Exercises are thoughtful and helpful for parents to engage with their young ones.

So thankful to Kelly Storck for having the determination to provide such a needed resource, the tenacity to do thorough research, and the compassion to care about children with GID. Practitioners and teachers should have this on their shelves.

I am also a librarian for PFLAG, an LGBTQ* support group. This book is FANTASTIC!!! I am so excited to use it and share it with colleagues and families! This book will be remaining in my office and another one will be purchased for our library. It takes the big concept of gender and breaks it down in family and kid friendly terms and ideas to kids explore who they are. Such a needed resource!

I am a clinical social worker that works with transgender clients and their families in private therapy. I am also the mom of an amazing 10 year old transgender son. I had the privilege of reading this workbook on a professional level, but really wish that it had been available when my son transitioned 5 years ago! Even though I was clinically trained, being the mom of a child questioning their gender was such a difficult road to navigate. This workbook explains things so well on a child's level, and I can see how it would really help during this challenging time in a child's life. I highly recommend this workbook to any parent with a child that may be showing signs of questioning their assigned gender, and I will be using it as a resource in my private practice.

This book uses British terminology which can be very confusing to us non-Brits.

Do you like a massage? I do and this is a great book. We share the love of getting a good massage. I give my wife one and a day of two later I get a massage. We have the table and the guide. It's great when you've had a busy day and your feet are sore, Ohhhhhh. I work with my hands all day, a building mechanic and it's nice to have your hands masaged. Oh la la.

Phenomenal illustrations and information. This is an exceptional book for beginners and persons already familiar with point pressure therapy.

I'm studying reflexology and this fits right in with my other material. It contains instruction for both foot and hand reflexology. It is also easy to do research on a problem area.

This DASH Diet Cookbook has great information for many meals. I find that I have been mostly eating simple things and do not use the cookbook much. I stop by the store more often to pick up veggies & fruit to last a few days, as well as the other items such as meat, dairy, etc. It is easy to grab a whole grain tortilla and a lot of veggies as well as fruit for lunch and supper. I have found that eating a lot of raw veggies can be enjoyable for me, but I am far from being a vegetarian. I have a pretty active life style and do not spend much time preparing many meals, but this does provide good information so that I can do that. My spouse is also following this diet and loosing weight too. That said, I am sure most people want to cook more meals, and will provide that information.Reads like a conversation with the author and not just a cookbook. Helps to motivate me on the goal to control hypertension and cholesterol with out drugs ( or high dose) It also stand alone with out the DASH diet Solution book.Works great with the Kindle to reference the web sources found in the book

I heard about DASH diet from a friend who was suffering from hypertension. I really thought that it is only focused on that condition until I read this book. The objective is to address it yet there are other benefits that one can get if one follows the diet. The book described it in details. I like it that the author laid out the principles behind the diet to fully appreciate why one is actually undergoing the said diet. As much as I was excited about the recipes, the background info, including charts and tips, are really insightful. The added bonus, I may say, is the recipes at the end of the book.

dash diet is an awesome way to change your eating habits to healthier one. my mom was recently prescribed to follow dash diet after having a minor heart stroke so I am helping her start her dash diet journey on a high note.I was looking for a cookbook with a complete meal plan, because it is easier to follow a new diet when you have meals planned ahead. I ran through the recipes and even wrote down a few for myself, so I can say they all sound simple, healthy and delicious, especially that tuna and arugula salad we tried earlier today.

There are recipes for the menus, and they're good recipes. They use real ingredients, healthy food that you can find at the grocery store. I've seen a lot of diet books in my day, and these recipes strike me as very reasonable, in terms of cost and the effort to prepare. This book would be good for others, like me, who want to eat healthy, but arenâ€™t sure where to start. If your doctor has recommended the DASH diet to you, this is a great resource.

One of my favorite Tom Clancy books. The Audible edition is one that I listen to just about once every year. Michael Prichard is the narrator for this and many of the other Tom Clancy books in this series. He does a great job with the voices for the different characters. I'm happy to have this book (both Kindle & Audible edition) in my collection. The counter terrorist strike force story is well thought out and the action holds your attention.

The bad guys in the novel are "tree-huggers"--people willing to kill billions of humans--absurd premise for a story. I couldn't help but resent the ridiculous portrayal of environmentalists, but otherwise the story is interesting and the action is exciting. Some parts are boring--when characters second guess themselves over and over. Movies made from his books leave out the boring parts--one of the rare instances in which I prefer the movies to the books.

Wonderful book!! This book tells the story of John Clark and Ding Chavez and their starting up of an international anti-terrorist unit. Instead of their usual role in the normal Jack Ryan books, they are now the main characters. The story is about the missions they take on and the way they accomplish them with the additional concurrent story of an conspiracy of biological attack on all of humanity. The story of well put together. There are no gaps and the story line flows smoothly.But this is not the only story that has John Clark (then John Kelly) as the main character. He first appears in "Without Remorse", telling his back story. That book even has Jack Ryan's father, a police officer, in it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that book also since it tells who he is\was and how he became a C.I.A. officer.

I love the way Tom Clancy weaves his stories. He has a knack for making you see the story from all sides and experience what the characters are going through. If I had to critique one thing it would be how unrealistic some of the dialogue is between ding and his wife, an MD, regarding killing. I realize that the intent isn't to glorify it but it just struck me as forced and unrealistic that a woman who married a career soldier, who then went on to work for the CIA, would be that naive. Beyond that I have to say it's a fantastic read..

Good story but it meanders through pages of unnecessary dialog. The author could have added more missions by the Six group. A good example of what I mean is a book like Lone Survivor or the Reaper. Clearly the content is different but I love the way the story is told in the latter books I mention. Well written, full of relevant action packed (and sometimes humorous) details, and fast paced. This book could have been so much better.

Nice story line BUT I somehow got the impression that someone else wrote the ending of this book. The last 50 pages seemed noticeably different. And who ever wrote it ... used His own style of speaking for the characters - at times forgetting to change from one character to another! Clark seemed out of character at the end of the book! Minor annoyances: 'Kay instead of Okay; putters instead of Computers - adding 'eh' at the end of sentences. Unrealistic exclamations: Clark upon explaining to a high ranking officer that the terrorists planned to kill more than 99% of the Worlds population responded with "you're kidding, eh". At least the spelling was not bad in this book!

This well articulated story is centered on John Clark, and Ding Chavez as a new worldwide anti-terrorism force is headquartered in England, with John Clark as its leader. The group is beyond a black operation. This story details 4 major terrorist attacks, three of which are engineered by an ex KGB Colonel at the behest of a rich American business man/scientist. This is a great read!

It's extremely violent, but my 12-year-old could not put it down. Since the intended audience is a bit older than that, I didn't knock it down a star.

The Manual book is quite helpful in doing simple repairs. It is not as detail to the point to carryout more serious repairs.It will be better to own a Franchise Workshop Repairs Manual.The black and white photos are not very distinct to distinguish the various parts of the Engine makeup components.

Seems like a great manual but the first job I did on a 2005 eacape was not correct in the book. I was replacing a power steering pump and the guide does not correspond to the correct pump location / process. I did find a write up online where the author had the same problem with his guide, not sure if it was Chilton also.

Daniel de Visé is an author and journalist who has worked at The Washington Post, The Miami Herald, and three other newspapers in a twenty-four-year career. I'm giving this book five stars because it's well-written and deftly weaves back and forth between Andy's and Don's story, providing important biographical context; describing how they came into contact with each other; and chronicling the evolution of their friendship that spanned multiple decades and lasted throughout the remainder of their lives. Along the way, it also provides interesting insights into the classic television show that was largely responsible for the fame and notoriety they enjoyed. So on those two accounts, this book delivers in spades. But as some have noted, there's a lot of sadness covered here as well. Despite the idealism, values, and gentle humor the "The Andy Griffith Show" brought forth on a weekly basis during its 8-year prime time run and continues to present nearly five decades after it left the air, there was a dark side to each of the two main characters - one stemming from a Jekyll-and-Hyde family upbringing, and the other perhaps from a tendency to hold long-lasting grudges and succumb to temptations. So if you don't want to face the reality that Andy and Don in real life didn't line up particularly well with Andy and Barney of Mayberry, then you might want to pass on this one. That said, one of them experienced somewhat of a return to the good values on which he was raised and with God's grace, was able to overcome a lot of the demons that plagued a large part of his adult, professional years. The other, I'm afraid, might not have been so fortunate. But it is true that both shared a deep, abiding friendship and love for each other, and that's the central focus of the book. As a lifelong fan of the show, I'm glad I read the book. I learned a lot of interesting things about the show; how things were done in the golden era of television; and the pressures and expectations that often accompany the fame. Portions of the book saddened me; other parts relieved some of the sadness. And while I'll always enjoy the show, I don't think I'll quite ever view it again as idyllically as I once did. Mayberry is nice place to fantasize about, perhaps even long to visit or live in because of its good people with good values and simple lives, but we live in a world far removed from Mayberry . . . if there ever was a true Mayberry.

The positive messages of the series are overshadowed by the author's attempt to create drama as he focuses on the 'dark side' of the cast's on and off screen personalities. in this recent (c2015) and generally unsympathetic write-up of the great classic 1960's TV series.The author apparently saved time by not bothering to get quotes directly from cast (oh, there are a few, but not what one would expect in a book of this nature), crew and fans but rather injects his own opinions at every turn - probably in an attempt to add drama through speculation. One example is the author proposing that Aunt Bee was gay (and if she was - - who cares?) while providing no supporting evidence, as the author drags out with examples how and why Aunt Bee was not well liked - at least in this book's author's view !Andy and Don's success should be the focus a we read about one of the best family drama's of all time.Avoid this book - and look for one of the many other authors who do a much better job helping relive this classic series and the actors (writers, crew sponsors and fans) that made the series possible !

Cateful what you wish for... I love TAGS and enjoy reading the behind the scenes stories. I am sorry I now know so much about the picadilloes and weaknesses of Andy Griffith and Don Knotts. We all knew they were actors playing characters but I guess I always romanticized this cast. Interesting and well written but you might get your heart broken.

Wow. When I downloaded a sample of this book, I thought it would be another badly-written fan book that was a very surface look at these two interesting personalities and their unique relationship. When I started reading it, however, I quickly saw that it was well-written, well-researched and that the author had some very intimate knowledge of this subject matter. That's when I discovered he was a journalist - as well as Don Knotts' brother-in-law! If you don't want any of your Mayberry myths punctured, you may not like this book, as it reveals some dark and dirty secrets about Sheriff Andy and Deputy Barney - but it also doesn't dwell on these secrets in a prurient way, nor does it judge the actors for being complex human beings with complex lives outside of the simplistic (but classic) Andy Griffith Show. I grew up loving that show, as well as Don Knotts' movies, and I found this book fascinating in every respect. And I'm glad somebody finally pointed out that when the Griffith show went on without Knotts, it (and Griffith) lost a lot of charm. The book naturally loses some narrative steam after the Griffith show ends, but it continues to be interesting to the end and many of its revelations are truly mind-blowing. This is a book that probably couldn't have been written while these two greats were still alive - but I'm glad, at this late date, the author made sure it finally got done and done right.

This was a great read, gripping and informative, which is how it is easy to believe what he says about SIM card preaching! I will be reading through this multiple times. Highly recommend.

I don't mind listening to John Clayton (an ESPN football analyst) talk about the NFL action behind the scenes. I appreciate his insight on the implications of a star player being traded. But I wouldn't listen to him talk about proper form-tackling. He's a scrawny guy that has (presumably) never played a down of football in his life. In the same way, I don't want to read a book about preaching from someone who isn't a great preacher.There are some folks that are brilliant academics and can speak deftly about the theology of preaching but may not be great preachers themselves. Others are great preachers but aren't too bright. Dr. Doug Witherup is both. He is an academic and is brilliant in his handling of the topic. He moves deftly through the content and I can promise you that you will learn something new on every page. Doug is very well read on a broad range of subject matter and it makes for a fun and enlightening reading experience. But perhaps most importantly, Doug is a phenomenal preacher. He has been preaching his entire adult life and that gives the book a unique credibility. He comes to the topic with wealth of practical knowledge and you will come away feeling empowered to go out and use what you've learned.As an added bonus, Doug is a fine writer. The book is engaging and funny. You won't want to put it down.There is no way that you won't be a better preacher after reading this book.

Through the years, I have been taught the fundamentals of preaching, how to develop preaching outlines and how to study the Bible from front to back and back to front, but never have I seen the approach given by Dr Witherup. "Interrobang" preaching; The name itself even leads to the main point of it's message. Creating an interest and a curiosity that keeps people wanting more. Dr Witherup's approach is not some new gimmick or novel idea, however I believe it opens up a new insight into the basic fundamentals of communication that Jesus Himself used 2000 years ago. Somehow in our efforts to remain Biblically accurate in our messages, we have become Biblically ignorant in our methodology. I can assure you, if you are a communicator of any kind, the principles of this book will give you a fresh perspective on how your words become either powerful or powerless when they reach the ears of your audience. I have listened to Dr Witherup preach and often wondered how his presentation of the same text that I had preached in the past come out so powerful; now I know. I have began to implement some of his methods and have gotten responses from people like "that is the best message I have heard in years" and "Wow, that message opened my eyes to things I have never noticed before".Take the time to read this book, you'll be glad you did!

Having personally heard Dr. Douglas Witherup preach and teach, I would liken him to any of the greatest TED Talk speakers. His ability to communicate an "ancient-future" method of speaking, sets this book apart from traditional preaching resources and brings the reader into the mysterious discovery of the Jesus style of communication. I have personally used it as a training resource for our "groups" leaders with great success.
