Luis Angel is a memory champion like no other. He is very sincere in his mission to help others and with this book he does exactly what the title mentions. He shows you how to memorize effectively and easily. I had the pleasure of watching him compete in tournaments and win titles with his powerful memory. I mention this to show you that he uses everything he teaches. If you want to improve your memory then this book is an absolute must.

I bought this book because I use and study memory systems. I own many good books on the subject.The reason i bought it was due to the high reviews and praise.I just finished packing it up so it can be returned.Truly, this book is not what it is advertised to be.The author is way into self-promotion and actually begs readers to go online and give him positive reviews and pump him and his business up.Whatever he may have achieved in memory training is minimal. This book is a repackaging of basic memory teachings which are found in many other books on the subject. He even says at the start that he learned all of this from a course he bought.The man can't write. His grammar is atrocious. It is painful to read his prose; stilted, wooden, completely unedited as it is.The actual book is a pastiche of stuff that is so common and so poorly presented that I wonder where the people who wrote good reviews were coming from.Do yourself a favor and look to other authors like Dominic O'Brien, Harry Lorayne, Odbjorn By, Dean Vaughn, to mention just a few, who can write, are literate, and have something to really offer.This book is trash and you need to steer clear of it.

One of the best memory books out right now. Luis has a lot of insight in this world and it was great to learn from him and his experiences as a memory athlete.

This book is incredible! The techniques used in this are wonderful and definitely work. The only problem is not with the material, its with the user. You actually have to put in work to learn and use these techniques. Some give up or don't see the connection on how these can actually benefit you in the long term. Learn from Luis Angel, this guy really knows what he is talking about. Stick with the techniques until they become a natural part of how your mind works and you will not be disappointed. There is a reason why he was a Memory Champion guys. He is willingly giving you a shortcut.

A great book written with the reader in mind. Also, combine with Luis's book on "Rember Names." Luis has a way of explaining a complex subject in easy to understand terms. He makes it fun to learn again.

Luis knows his stuff and has helped me immeasurably.. It is great fun using his techniques to improve my memory. I can't thank him enough.

The binding of the book does not lie flat, making it hard to use the book. You end up trying to write on the up or down hump in the middle of the book.A spiral binding or download version would be far better.

This book is AMAZING!! I was so excited to see this tutorial book on modern calligraphy, as I am a modern calligrapher I jump at the chance to get any new resource. This one exceeded my expectations. It is filled with exemplars and explains all you’ll need to know even if you’re a beginner. You won’t be dissppointed!!!!

Great practice workbook with lots of tips and tricks! I really enjoy it.

I have always loved Kestrel’s calligraphy style, so I was really excited to see that she was releasing a book, and let me tell you, it is even better than I expected. I love how it is broken down into basic strokes first, but then the letter exercises are ordered by the strokes, instead of alphabetically. So it’s really easy to see how they build on each other. The empty practice pages at the end of each section are great too. Not too many, but just enough to give you free space to practice. The photography is clean, beautiful, and very well done.I’ve been lettering and using a dip pen for a couple years now, but there were plenty of tips and bits of information that were new to me in this book. Like the correct angle between the nib and the paper?? My writing is so much smoother now! So I would recommend this book for every skill level.This is my favorite calligraphy book I’ve purchased, so I highly recommend it. It would make a very good gift for someone interested in beginning or continuing the art of calligraphy.

I purchased this book for two main reasons. First, I was building a library of publications on sniper craft and long range target engagement, and second, Mark Spicer is a well known instructor in the field. These reasons plus the relative low cost of it, made it sort of a "no brainer" for me. When I received it, I started paging though it and the first thing that crossed my mind was the obvious quality of the paper and the images in the book. This book is extremely well "illustrated" with color photographs. It seems as if every page has at least one image on it. If you are one of the folks who are attracted to imagery, you will probably like this book.As I got into the reading I realized that there was a lot of information present in the book. But equally visible was the absence of some things that were sort of expected. In retrospect, I guess we tend to be too "entitled". We expect everything to be perfect and when it is not, we have a sense of outrage toward the item and the process by which it came into our possession. Such was the case with this book... although I wasn't really "outraged". That is much too strong of a description for my concern. I just thought that a book defined as a "manual of sniper skills" would really have a lot of meat between the covers. And it does, to some extent. It is also conspicuous by what is NOT present. There is a lot of information here on situational awareness and how the sniper operates in different scenarios and conditions. Lots of information on camouflage in natural surroundings as well as urban environments. Lots of information on equipment capabilities and potential usage. There is even a bit of information on shot placement for anti-personnel as well as anti-material targets. Where the most susceptible points are for a sniper when engaging aircraft, missile launchers, artillery pieces, motorized vehicles, and yes, even ships. .... I guess that is all useful information for military snipers...( ???..) There is however precious little information here on wind solutions, ballistic solutions, technique or procedure. This is more about overall sniper process and what it takes to be effective rather than about the actual shooting technique. My guess is the author assumes that we know how to operate our equipment.... and I can't fault him for that.I did enjoy the book. It was an interesting read and gave some insight into military procedure and how a sniper could affect a battlefield environment. I liked the photographs even though some were poorly identified. Overall, I think it was very worthwhile especially considering the price. It is a welcome addition to my library.

There is some pretty ok information in this- lots of references to foriegn rifles, pictures of diverse special forces training together, and lots of vague and general targeting information. What I really wanted more of was nitty gritty technique. There is very little tactical info that a soldier with basic common sense wouldn't already know. There is some simplified distance calculations but that's about it.If you want some old photos of the author training with a bunch of other international forces then you could get this.

Now, I wasn't completely dissappointed with this book, the author seems really experienced and knowledgable, and it has plenty of good information concerning stalking, camouflage, hides, stealth techniques etc., but what good is that to a civilian? I'm not going on any covert sniper missions that I know of. I was expecting ALOT more on the shooting aspect, especially since my search was "long range shooting books", but I was fooled. All I'm saying is if you want to learn to shoot long range this book is the wrong one to buy, if you want to learn how to stalk and camouflage yourself from an enemy this is the book for you.

There are three mayor fields for every sniper all over the world to master that are marksmanship, fieldcraft and tactics;the last two ones were really exposed and debated in this manual wish I personally found very up to date information and even info that shouldn't be for every readers..,the only reason I'm giving it 4 stars it's because nothing is mention about marksmanship and long range shooting formulas and their compensation for elevation, windage ,temp,angles,humidity,reading the mirage doping for wind etc..... for the most common calibers.It's definitely oriented to teach the population of possible sniper terrorist threats, NOT a training manual,but a good reference manual for those with the experience or knowledge in the field .Overall I did enjoy it.

The Ultimate Sniper by Maj. John L. Plaster (Updated and expanded edition) like his first edition by the same name written years ago is the sniper/long range rifleman's bible. This book is an excellent reference obviously written by one of the practitioners of the stealthy sniping trade. This book touches on tactics and objectives susceptible to sniper engagement, with good practical advice and background information it just does not get into the "complete" picture and details like the Ultimate Sniper does. If you can only bring yourself to buy one or the other, then I would recommend Maj. Plasters works unquestionably. This book will be a valuable addition to the shooter that wishes to own a complete library on this subject.

Dirty John is surrounded by stories far from being representative of true crime. The editing is horrible. There are misplaced commas, comma splices, run on sentences and more. It's difficult to understand how the author received a Pulitzer. All the stories in the book end precipitatously, with no satisfaction from having read them. I wish I could get a refund.

I purchased this book. It’s a collection of true-life, nonfiction pieces, written by one of the great storytellers of our time. The author wrote Dirty John, the basis of a popular podcast and now a TV show. This story is included in this book, and it’s great to read the original, but in my opinion at least a half dozen other stories in this collection are as good or better. “The $40 Lawyer” and “Framed” introduce characters and tell stories I’d be as interested in seeing turned into film or TV as “Dirty John.” The writing style reminds me of Elmore Leonard, but the stories are all from real life. Christopher Goffard is one of the great long form journalists working today.

The book is called Dirty John but there is only 91 pages about the story. The book has 348 pages. Basically sounds like it was written from the Dirty John Bravo show. Very disappointing.

I bought this for my mom as a Christmas gift, but I read it in its entirety before wrapping. Hope my mom doesn’t mind the dog-eared pages.

I expected to learn more details about the title book which I did not. Other short stories were abrupt statements about other cases. I watched the Bravo series of Dirty John and learned nothing more from this book. Do not waste your money.

Takes me back to my youth. I love this album and the movie!

Am so impressed... have the original on vinyl and this one sounds so much richer and vibrant. Saw a segment on the Tonight Show about it and hit amazon up (since they referenced amazon as a source) It arrived in perfect condition, the heavier grain surprisingly played on my 61 Zenith High fidelity with EXTREME STEREO and REVERB which always makes me laugh but at the time it was the best so to speak. Usually old consoles have issue with the heavier press but it played flawlessly and sounded amazing . Surprisingly was very moved by his passing... usually as a vet scoff at all the over coverage of stars dying when soldiers die in these wars weekly and no one even notices... But Prince and Chris Cornell effected me for they were stars that traversed my life. Now hearing this remastered by Prince himself seems to honor his music and reflect on his genius. Recommend this to anyone who loves vinyl it is worth the price even if you have original like i do. It is beautiful in the new pressing and an improved version of a classic album !

The 180gram vinyl is very well made, and beside dust cover and sleeves, it has an inner cover. The bass is fantastic on my average system with Pro-Ject RPM 1, Cambridge 551P, and Marantz receiver. It is a nice addition to my new collection.

This review is for the cassette reissue, NOT the album. The album is 5 stars. 10 stars. It's obviously a classic and really needs no further comment at this point.Unfortunately this classic album was recently reissued on cassette tape... trying to cash in on an as-yet-to-be-trendy option bet on cassettes making a comeback the same way vinyl has. Well, it's probably not going to happen. Cassette decks are too finicky, and cassettes are too prone to break down and poor sound for it to ever happen. That said, I really like cassettes. Not as much as vinyl, but I grew up with them, and if you have a really good deck, you can make spectacular sounding mix tapes given a good source. Pre-recorded tapes (i.e. cassette albums) can even sound really good if they were a good run and you have a decent system. You have to temper expectations a little, but it's good clean nostalgic fun if nothing else.All that said... this reissue of Purple Rain on cassette is an absolute abomination. I'm not sure who was responsible for the actual manufacture and dubbing of this reissue, but they all need to be fired and banned from ever touching anything to do with music production ever again. The sound is HORRIFIC. ATROCIOUS. CATASTROPHIC. The volume surges and vanishes over and over, and it's unlistenable.I guess it's possible this is a lemon copy among great ones... I doubt it. I have the original cassette of this, and it's been played plenty of times and audibly deteriorated, but it positively shines next to this reissue. When I get around to it I'll post a youtube review or something.Don't waste your money. If you really want a Prince cassette - go find a used one or dub your CD / LP / itunes onto a cassette and just pretend.

This vinyl pressing is perfection. The sound quality is just incredible - every track is so dynamic - even the inner tracks. Just about zero background noise. And the music on this album? EPIC, of course! Do yourself a favor and get this. Play it loud and enjoy.

I had purchased this last year and just got to listening to it. This pressing is the worst I have in my collection, have no idea what the deal is, I also own the special edition CD version which sounds great. What gives? It sounds like listening through and old portable hand held radio (AM). The bass is muddy and the highs sizzle and are a mess, any lyrics that have S sound hissing and distorted. Drums are also a mess. Maybe I have a bad pressing but by now I'm sure I can't return it. Do yourself a favor, listen to the Album right away and don't wait like it did, or just purchase the CD collection it is well worth it. This is a great album but the LP does not do it justice, it make a mockery of LPs.The only good thing about this Album is the Poster and Album Art.

AMAZING album, no wonder it was #1 for something like 6 mos. in 1984! the classic hits are still timeless gems: 'let's go crazy', 'purple rain' (the best track on the album!), when doves cry....but i esp. love 'i would die for you', 'take me with you' and 'baby i'm a star.' lots of early 80s synthesizers on many of the songs...but overall, great album from start to finish. and on the song 'purple rain', you can just feel the passion in that song with that guitar solo! prince made a timeless, classic album that sounds as fresh today as it did in 1984. highly recommend it!

My first introduction to Prince was the movie Purple Rain. I was hooked. How could you not be? Unlike anything I had ever heard. Every song on this album is great. You will not be disappointed. I crank this and sing at the top of my voice. It is such a spiritual, almost sexual, experience for me. That's what Prince, alone, does for me. Everyone needs to own Purple Rain.
