Spent about 4 days in Tallinn recently. I like DK guides in general for planning, but rarely take them with me because of weight (and I see their strength as sights, not so much restaurants or hotels.) However, I didn't have a lot of info on Tallinn (a few pages from another guidebook.) So I got this to help me plan...and liked it so much I got the Kindle edition as well to take with me. It was great for 4 days. Tried several of the recommended pubs and restaurants and went to most of the recommended sights in the old town (plus Catherine's Palace and the Open Air Museum.) There was some pretty detailed information which I found helpful (such as the best artwork in St. Nicholas Church.) In general I prefer the "regular" DK guides, but this one worked very well for Tallinn.

I can't get enough of these guides, and the Top 10 series is fantastic. For a trip to Europe where you will be visiting multiple countries, the Top 10 Guide will fit easily into your bag with a couple other books without adding much weight.This guide for Tallinn is a great introduction to the city (as well as the country of Estonia) - it includes a brief history and multiple Top 10 lists. There is one MAIN list of the Top 10 sights in the city, but the guide then goes on to share things like the Top 10 Restaurants in Tallinn or the Top 10 Churches, etc. GREAT purchase.

DK Top 10 is my goto series for any travel destination. It's small enough to carry with you when sightseeing and packed with helpful info in an easy to read format.

This is an excellent travel book it's small and colorful and concise. I did not agree with their top ten restaurant choices and did my own research for hotels but this was well worth the cost.

as always, I love these travel books. If you don't know anything about a location you plan to visit, this is a great place to start.

One of the best guide books I've seen. Very well organized with great maps. Compact size makes is easy to carry. We spent four days in Tallin and used this guide extensively. It's advice on museums, restaurants, cafes, etc. was spot on. 100% recommendation!

Very informative but too short. Should have more interesting places to go.

The capabilities and efforts of the highest commanders are addressed.He addresses many issues including building the air force which was a monumental challenge as most of the men were civilians before the war, and had to be inducted into the armed services and trained for their new jobs. He touches on the training aircraft used, however he devotes most of his aircraft discussions to the combat aircraft, heavy bombers in particular, and the fighters. He addresses pilot training and training establishment which essentially had to be invented, including aircraft, trainers, some civilians for basic, and aircraft spread across the country.The pilot training effort was a monumental effort, but very successful in turning out thousands of pilots every month with over 300 hours flying, including time in the aircraft that they would fly in combat. I had the blessing of having Jay as a flight instructor in Beeville,Texas during Jet training in the T-2 Buckeye back in 1987. His other talent is photography as I still have a great photo he took of me in the Buckeye in south Texas. I recall another time he sat in the backseat during one of my flights singing Irish drinking songs over the intercom, which we had to leave on hot back then. His call sign was Guinness after all; appropriate. His personality comes through in his writing style, and being a former Marine Harrier pilot, it was refreshing to see a fellow Marine with such a pleasant command of the English language; we can get a reputation. History is so fascinating, and it is even more so when the writer can not only give the facts and figures, but bring the story alive with the interwoven tales of the participants in a seamless fashion. That is art. This is the second book of Jay's I have read, and I have more in the on deck circle. I highly recommend this enlightening read about an amazing time and place in this world's history.

This book helped me so much with the AFOQT for 2018. For those taking the AFOQT, make sure you are comfortable with the allowed times before you take the test for real. Once you do that, the rest of the test is cake. If you are looking for a rated slot, the aeronautical information provided is pretty good, but I would still use other resources. I'm shooting for a rated slot for ANG and scored 99 for pilot and 88 for nav using this book.

Definitely helped me do well on the AFOQT.

I was looking more of a how to guide. This is more like practice exams. Recommend something more user friendly.

I’ve previously taken the test in 2017. Everything that was on the test is now updated within the latest book.

The background information on aviation is very helpful but the practice testquestions remain similar to the older edition. For folks taking the ASTB (OAR) or AFOQT test, I wouldhighly recommend the ASTB (OAR) and SIFT Study Guide.
